Under the director of music director MÉLISSE BRUNET, the Lexington Philharmonic presents "Mavericks" on Saturday, March 9th at the Singletary Center for the Arts, a show celebrating the independent spirit, individuality, courage, and innovation of artists. The concert begins at 7:30PM with the Kentucky premieres of the two co-commissioned works "Cold Mountain Suite" by Jennifer Higdon and then "Bohemian Queen" by Clarice Assad featuring trumpet soloist Mary Elizabeth Bowden.
The program concludes with Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s audience-favorite "Symphony No. 4," which evokes strong emotion and breaks the “compositional mold”.
Prior to the start of the show, attendees are invited to join for a free pre-concert lecture with LexPhil Music Director Mélisse Brunet for an exclusive, in-depth look Inside the Score at 6:30PM in the Presidents Room. Seating is limited, so arrive early!
