Natalie Baxter returns home to Kentucky to talk about her current work at 21c Museum Hotel Lexington.Natalie Baxter says that she first learned to quilt from her Granny on Kingdom Come Creek in eastern Kentucky. Today, the artist uses soft sculptures and videos to playfully explore concepts of place-identity, nostalgic Americana, and traditional gender stereotypes, to create an accessible entry point for unpacking matters of tension in today’s political and social landscape.
