Picnic with the Pops “Night on Bourbon Street: A Tribute to Louis Armstrong” at The Meadow at Keene Barn

Started by a former Lexington mayor in 1980, Picnic with the Pops has grown into a beloved outdoor concert event held annually each August, featuring the Lexington Philharmonic along with a special guest artist every year. This year’s guest event will feature acclaimed jazz trombonist Wycliffe Gordon and his International All-Stars performing a tribute to Louis Armstrong. Taking place in the idyllic setting of Keeneland’s Meadow by Keene Barn & Entertainment Center, patrons are encouraged to bring their families, along with blankets and picnic dinners to enjoy on the lawn for this festive event; food trucks and beverage vendors will be on site as well, in a new tradition that started last year.
