The Rosa Goddard International Film Festival is an annual celebration of cinema classics, sponsored by local bookstore SQecial Media and presented at the historic Kentucky Theater.
While La Notte presents a desperate search for connection, Kieślowski's The Double Life of Véronique seems to suggest that it's everywhere. Two women, Weronika and Véronique (both played by the incredible Irène Jacob), unknown to each other, lead a very literal double life, with a nod to the collective unconscious. Mysterious and magical, this film could easily be seen as Kieślowski's prelude to the stunning Three Colours trilogy.
