In this class, we will hand carve a general use cooking/serving spoon. Roughly shaped spoon blanks (ready for carving) will be provided for each individual to make their own. We won't be using any power tools to carve the spoons, just hand tools. Gouges, straight knives, and hook knives will be provided for use.
Before diving into the carving, the instructor will demonstrate some basic carving techniques and knife grips that maximize power, control, and safety.
At the end of the class, you will have a spoon that you carved with your own hands to use for many years to come.
