WoodSongs: The James Hunter Six/ Liz Vice

JAMES HUNTER burst onto the scene 10 years ago topping the Billboard Blues chart, earning a Grammy-nomination, and attracting universal acclaim from critics and his fans—including Van Morrison, Sharon Jones, and Allen Toussaint. Over the last decade, he’s toured extensively around the world and steadily growing a dedicated audience comprised of hardened gig-goers, old-school baby boomers, and young hipsters alike. Now Hunter is back with his fourth album, Hold On! marking his debut on Daptone Records, America’s premier soul imprint.

LIZ VICE is a gospel, soul, and R&B infused artist from Portland, Organ. With a love of story telling, she has found herself going from working behind the scenes in the film and video world to behind the mic. The songs from debut album ‘There’s A Light’ feature dynamic, soulful vocals, with lyrics are classically influenced enough to feel timeless and reference her deep-rooted spirituality.
